Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Wash the cucumber and mint leaves under cold water. Cut the cucumber into thin slices or spears, and set aside. Cut the lime in half and juice one half, reserving the other half for garnishing.
- 2
Muddle the Mint and Cucumber
In a cocktail shaker, add the cucumber slices and fresh mint leaves. Using a muddler or the back of a spoon, gently muddle the ingredients to release the cucumber's juice and the mint's aroma. Be careful not to over-muddle, as you want to keep the mint leaves intact.
- 3
Add Gin and Lime Juice
Pour the Botanist Gin and the freshly squeezed lime juice into the cocktail shaker with the muddled cucumber and mint. Fill the shaker with ice and shake well for about 15-20 seconds until well chilled.
- 4
Strain and Serve
Strain the mixture into a tall glass filled with ice. Top with club soda to taste, giving it a gentle stir to combine.
- 5
Garnish
Garnish the drink with the remaining lime half and a sprig of mint. Optionally, add a few extra cucumber slices for decoration and freshness.
