Method
Chocolate Torte
- 1
Prepare the Ingredients
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease a 9-inch round cake pan and line the bottom with parchment paper.
- 2
Melt Chocolate and Butter
In a heatproof bowl, combine the dark chocolate and unsalted butter. Melt them together over a pot of simmering water (double boiler method) or in the microwave in 30-second intervals, stirring until smooth.
- 3
Mix Sugar and Eggs
In a mixing bowl, whisk together granulated sugar and large eggs until the mixture is light and fluffy.
- 4
- 5
Add Dry Ingredients
Sift in the all-purpose flour, add the vanilla extract and a pinch of salt. Fold the mixture until just combined, being careful not to overmix.
- 6
Bake the Torte
Pour the batter into the prepared cake pan and smooth the top. Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
- 7
Cool the Torte
Allow the torte to cool in the pan for about 10 minutes before transferring it to a wire rack to cool completely.
