Preparation

1

Prep the Tomatoes

Dice the fresh tomatoes into small pieces and place them in a mixing bowl.

2

Add Seasoning

Chop the fresh basil leaves and add them to the bowl with the diced tomatoes. Mince the garlic cloves and add them as well. Season the mixture with salt and black pepper. Stir well to combine all ingredients. Let it sit for about 10 minutes to allow the flavors to meld.

Grilling Bread

3

Slice the Baguette

Slice the baguette into 1/2 inch thick slices.

4

Brush with Olive Oil

Brush each slice of baguette with olive oil on one side.

5

Grill the Bread

Preheat a grill or grill pan over medium heat. Place the oiled side of the bread down on the grill. Grill for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown, then flip and grill the other side for an additional 1-2 minutes.

Assembly

6

Top the Bread

Remove the grilled bread slices from the grill and place them on a serving platter. Spoon the tomato and basil mixture generously on top of each slice.

7

Serve

Serve immediately while the bread is warm and the topping is fresh.
