Wontons

Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Filling

In a large bowl, combine the ground chicken, minced ginger, minced garlic, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sesame oil, salt, and black pepper. Mix thoroughly until all ingredients are well combined.

  2. 2

    Assemble the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place about a tablespoon of the chicken filling in the center. Moisten the edges of the wrapper with water using your finger. Fold the wrapper in half to form a triangle, pressing the edges to seal tightly. Then, bring the two corners of the triangle together and pinch to seal, forming a wonton shape. Repeat with the remaining wrappers and filling.

  3. 3

    Cook the Wontons

Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Carefully add the wontons and cook for about 4-5 minutes, or until they float to the surface and are cooked through. Remove the wontons with a slotted spoon and place them on a plate.

  4. 4

    Prepare the Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce and black vinegar (to taste) for a simple dipping sauce. Optionally, add minced ginger and chopped green onions for extra flavor.

  5. 5

    Serve

Serve the wontons hot with the dipping sauce on the side. Enjoy your Chiang Mai Chicken Wontons!
