Preparation Steps

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat

Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). Rub the roast beef or pork with olive oil, garlic powder, onion powder, salt, and black pepper.

  2. 2

    Roast the Meat

Place the seasoned meat on a roasting pan and roast in the preheated oven for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the desired doneness is reached. Use a meat thermometer to check for an internal temperature of 145°F (63°C) for medium rare.

  3. 3

    Let it Rest

Once the meat is done, remove it from the oven and let it rest for 15-20 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

  4. 4

    Slice the Meat

Thinly slice the meat against the grain using a sharp knife.

  5. 5

    Prepare the Rolls

While the meat is resting, slice the seeded rolls in half. Optionally, you can toast them lightly.

  6. 6

    Assemble the Sandwiches

Place a layer of sliced roast beef or pork on the bottom half of each roll. Top with a slice of provolone cheese and add hot peppers if desired. Drizzle with hot broth for extra flavor.

  7. 7

    Serve

Close the sandwiches with the top half of the rolls and serve immediately with extra broth on the side.
