Fried Chicken
Method
Cooking Directions
- 1
Prepare the Chicken
Start by tenderizing the chicken breasts and then marinating them in buttermilk for at least 1 hour, preferably overnight.
- 2
Mix the Coating
In a bowl, combine the flour, salt, black pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and onion powder. Mix well.
- 3
Coat the Chicken
Remove the chicken from the buttermilk and let the excess drip off. Dredge each piece in the flour mixture, ensuring an even coating.
- 4
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 5
Fry the Chicken
Carefully place the coated chicken breasts in the hot oil. Fry for about 7-8 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.
- 6
Drain and Serve
Remove the chicken from the oil and place it on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Serve hot with your favorite housemade sauce.
