Method

Making Churros

  1. 1

    Prepare the Dough

In a medium saucepan, combine water, butter, sugar, and salt. Bring to a boil over medium heat. Remove from heat, add flour, and stir until mixture forms a ball. Let cool for 5 minutes.

  2. 2

    Add Eggs and Vanilla

Add the eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla extract until smooth.

  3. 3

    Heat Oil

In a large pot, heat vegetable oil to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Pipe and Fry Churros

Transfer dough to a piping bag fitted with a star tip. Pipe 4-6 inch strips into hot oil, cutting with scissors. Fry until golden brown, about 2-3 minutes. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Coat in Sugar

Mix sugar and cinnamon in a shallow dish. Roll churros in the mixture while still warm.

Making Sauces

  1. 6

    Brandy Peach Sauce

In a saucepan, combine diced peaches, brown sugar, brandy, and lemon juice. Cook over medium heat until peaches are soft, about 10 minutes. Blend if desired for a smooth sauce.

  2. 7

    Caramel Sauce

In a saucepan, melt sugar over medium heat until it turns a golden color. Stir in butter until melted, then add heavy cream and vanilla. Simmer for about 5 minutes until thickened.
