Method

Brewing the Tea

  1. 1

    Boil the Water

In a kettle, bring 2 cups of fresh water to a boil. Ensure that the water is at a rolling boil for optimal extraction of flavors.

  2. 2

    Add Tea Leaves

Once the water has boiled, remove it from heat and allow it to cool for about 1-2 minutes (ideal temperature is around 175°F or 80°C). Add 2 tablespoons of green tea leaves to a teapot or infuser.

  3. 3

    Steep the Tea

Pour the slightly cooled water over the tea leaves in the teapot. Cover and steep for 2-3 minutes. Avoid steeping for too long, as this can make the tea bitter.

  4. 4

    Strain and Serve

After steeping, strain the tea into cups to remove the leaves. If desired, sweeten with honey and add a slice of lemon for extra flavor.
