Haddock Preparation

Season the Haddock
Sprinkle salt, black pepper, and lemon juice over the haddock fillet. Let it marinate for at least 15 minutes.
For Frying

Prepare the Breading
In a shallow bowl, mix together all-purpose flour and cornmeal. In another bowl, whisk the egg and milk until combined.

Heat the Oil
In a deep skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Haddock
Carefully place the breaded haddock fillet into the hot oil. Fry for about 4-5 minutes on each side or until golden brown and cooked through.

Drain the Haddock
Remove the fried haddock and place it on a paper towel-lined plate to drain excess oil.
For Broiling

Preheat the Broiler
Preheat your oven broiler to high and adjust the oven rack to the top position.

Prepare the Haddock
Place the seasoned haddock fillet on a baking sheet lined with parchment paper. Drizzle olive oil over the top, then sprinkle paprika and garlic powder.

Broil the haddock for about 6-8 minutes, or until the fish flakes easily with a fork and is cooked through.
