Method

Salad Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Romaine Lettuce

Wash the romaine lettuce under cold running water. Shake off excess water and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel. Remove the leaves from the stem, and chop into bite-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Croutons

If using store-bought croutons, skip this step. If making homemade croutons, preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). Cut bread into small cubes, toss with olive oil, garlic powder, salt, and pepper, then spread on a baking sheet. Bake for 10-15 minutes or until golden and crunchy, stirring occasionally.

  3. 3

    Grate the Parmesan Cheese

Using a grater, grate the Parmesan cheese into fine shreds for topping the salad.

Dressing Preparation

  1. 4

    Make the Caesar Dressing

In a medium bowl, combine mayonnaise, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, and olive oil. Whisk until smooth and creamy. Season with salt and black pepper to taste.

Salad Assembly

  1. 5

    Combine Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, add the chopped romaine lettuce. Drizzle the prepared Caesar dressing over the lettuce and toss gently to coat all the leaves evenly.

  2. 6

    Add Croutons and Cheese

Top the dressed salad with croutons and sprinkle the grated Parmesan cheese on top. Serve immediately.
