Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Ribeye

Take the Snake River Farms American Wagyu Ribeye out of the refrigerator and allow it to come to room temperature for about 30-45 minutes before cooking. This ensures even cooking.

  2. 2

    Season the Ribeye

Pat the ribeye dry with paper towels to remove excess moisture. Generously season both sides of the ribeye with kosher salt, freshly ground black pepper, and garlic powder.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Heat the Pan

Heat a cast-iron skillet or heavy-bottomed pan over medium-high heat. Add the olive oil and allow it to heat until shimmering.

  2. 4

    Sear the Ribeye

Once the oil is hot, carefully place the seasoned ribeye in the pan. Sear for 4-5 minutes on one side until a nice crust forms.

  3. 5

    Flip and Cook

Flip the ribeye and cook for another 3-4 minutes for medium-rare, or to your desired doneness. For added flavor, you can add the unsalted butter and rosemary sprigs to the pan during the last minute of cooking.

Resting

  1. 6

    Let It Rest

Remove the ribeye from the skillet and transfer it to a cutting board. Tent it loosely with foil and let it rest for 5-10 minutes. This allows the juices to redistribute.

Serving

  1. 7

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye against the grain and serve immediately. Optionally, drizzle with any pan juices or serve with additional rosemary for garnish.
