Method

Shrimp Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Shrimp

In a large pot, bring 4 cups of water to a boil. Add the halved lemon and Old Bay seasoning to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook the Shrimp

Once the water is boiling, add the large shrimp to the pot. Cook for 2-3 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and opaque.

  3. 3

    Chill the Shrimp

Remove the shrimp from the pot and transfer them to an ice bath (a bowl filled with ice and cold water) to stop the cooking process. Let them cool for about 5 minutes.

  4. 4

    Drain and Refrigerate

Drain the shrimp and place them on a paper towel to remove excess moisture. Refrigerate the shrimp until ready to serve.

Cocktail Sauce Preparation

  1. 5

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the ketchup, horseradish sauce, lemon juice, Worcestershire sauce, hot sauce, and salt. Stir until well blended.

  2. 6

    Taste and Adjust

Taste the cocktail sauce and adjust the seasoning, adding more horseradish or salt if desired.

Serving

  1. 7

    Plate the Dish

Arrange the chilled shrimp on a serving platter and serve with a bowl of cocktail sauce on the side.

  2. 8

    Enjoy

Serve immediately and enjoy your refreshing shrimp cocktail!
