Method

Pulled Pork Preparation

  1. 1

    Prepare the Pork

Rub the pork shoulder with salt, black pepper, smoked paprika, cayenne pepper, and brown sugar. Make sure to cover all sides evenly.

  2. 2

    Sauté Vegetables

In a large skillet, heat a little oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until softened (about 3-4 minutes).

  3. 3

    Slow Cook the Pork

Transfer the seasoned pork shoulder to a slow cooker. Add the sautéed onion and garlic, then pour in the BBQ sauce and chicken broth. Cover and cook on low for 8 hours or high for 4 hours.

  4. 4

    Shred the Pork

Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.

Coleslaw Preparation

  1. 5

    Make the Coleslaw

In a large bowl, combine the coleslaw mix, mayonnaise, apple cider vinegar, salt, and black pepper. Toss until all the ingredients are well coated.

Baked Beans Preparation

  1. 6

    Heat the Baked Beans

Prepare the baked beans according to the package instructions, heating them on the stovetop or in the oven until warm.
