Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt until evenly mixed.

  2. 2

    Prepare Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, combine the milk, egg, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Whisk until well blended.

  3. 3

    Combine Both Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the bowl with the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined. Be careful not to overmix; it's okay if there are a few lumps.

Cooking

  1. 4

    Heat the Pan

Preheat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. You can lightly grease it with a little butter or oil if desired.

  2. 5

    Cook the Pancakes

Pour about 1/3 cup of batter onto the heated pan for each pancake. Cook until bubbles form on the surface, about 2-3 minutes. Flip and cook for another 1-2 minutes until golden brown.

  3. 6

    Serve

Remove the pancakes from the skillet and keep warm. Serve three pancakes per plate, topped with butter and drizzled with maple syrup to taste.
