Soak the Beans
Rinse the pinto, kidney, and black beans under cold water. In a large bowl, cover the beans with water and let them soak overnight. Drain and rinse before cooking.

Cook the Bacon (Optional)
If using bacon, cook the chopped bacon in a large skillet over medium heat until crispy. Remove and drain on paper towels, leaving the drippings in the skillet.

Combine All Ingredients
In a large pot or Dutch oven, combine the soaked beans, sautéed vegetables, BBQ sauce, Worcestershire sauce, brown sugar, mustard, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well to combine.

Simmer the Beans
Bring the mixture to a boil, then reduce the heat to low. Cover and let the beans simmer for about 1.5 to 2 hours, or until the beans are tender. Stir occasionally and add water if needed to keep the beans covered.

Add Bacon and Jalapeños (Optional)
If using, stir in the cooked bacon and sliced jalapeños during the last 15 minutes of cooking.
