Pulled Pork Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Pork
Place the pork shoulder in a slow cooker. Peel and slice the yellow onion and garlic cloves, then add them to the slow cooker.
- 2
Season the Pork
In a small bowl, mix together the smoked paprika, ground cumin, brown sugar, salt, and black pepper. Rub this mixture all over the pork shoulder.
- 3
Add Liquids
Pour the apple cider vinegar and water into the slow cooker, ensuring the pork is partially submerged.
- 4
Cook the Pork
Cover the slow cooker and cook on low for 8-10 hours or on high for 4-6 hours, until the pork is tender and easily shredded.
- 5
Shred the Pork
Once cooked, remove the pork from the slow cooker and shred it using two forks. Return the shredded pork to the slow cooker and mix it with the juices.
BBQ Sauce Preparation
- 6
Make the BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan over medium heat, combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, Worcestershire sauce, smoked paprika, salt, and black pepper. Stir well and simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 7
Combine with Pork
Pour the BBQ sauce over the shredded pork in the slow cooker. Stir to combine and heat through for an additional 30 minutes.

Toast the Buns
If desired, lightly toast the slider buns in an oven or on a skillet.
- 9
Assemble the Sliders
Place a generous scoop of the pulled pork on the bottom half of each slider bun. Top with pickles and coleslaw, then place the top half of the bun on.
- 10
Serve
Serve the pulled pork sliders warm, with extra BBQ sauce on the side if desired.
