Batter

Fried Oreos

Method

Prepare the Batter

  1. 1

    Mix Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, combine the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt. Whisk together until well blended.

  2. 2

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In a separate bowl, mix the milk, vanilla extract, and egg until fully combined.

  3. 3

    Make the Batter

Gradually pour the wet mixture into the dry ingredients, stirring until you achieve a smooth batter. Ensure there are no lumps.

Fry the Oreos

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pot or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C). Use a thermometer to monitor the temperature.

  2. 5

    Coat the Oreos

Using a fork, dip each Oreo into the batter, ensuring they are fully coated.

  3. 6

    Fry the Oreos

Carefully place the battered Oreos into the hot oil, a few at a time, to avoid overcrowding. Fry for about 2-3 minutes on each side, or until golden brown.

  4. 7

    Drain and Dust

Once cooked, use a slotted spoon to remove the Oreos from the oil and place them on a plate lined with paper towels to drain excess oil. Dust with powdered sugar while still warm.
