Method

Chips

  1. 1

    Prepare the Tortillas

Cut the corn tortillas into triangles to form chips.

  2. 2

    Heat the Oil

In a large pot, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  3. 3

    Fry the Chips

Carefully add the tortilla triangles to the hot oil in batches. Fry until golden brown and crispy, about 2-3 minutes. Use a slotted spoon to remove them and drain on paper towels.

  4. 4

    Season the Chips

While the chips are still hot, sprinkle with salt to taste.

Salsa

  1. 5

    Chop the Vegetables

Dice the fresh tomatoes, onion, and jalapeño pepper. Mince the garlic and chop the cilantro.

  2. 6

    Mix the Ingredients

In a medium bowl, combine the diced tomatoes, onion, jalapeño, minced garlic, and chopped cilantro.

  3. 7

    Add Lime and Season

Juice the lime over the salsa mixture and add salt. Stir until well combined.

  4. 8

    Let it Sit

Allow the salsa to sit for at least 15 minutes to let the flavors meld.
