Method
Preparing the Shrimp
- 1
Prepare the Shrimp
In a large bowl, season the peeled and deveined Gulf Coast shrimp with salt and black pepper. Set aside.
- 2
Set Up Breading Station
In three separate shallow dishes, place the all-purpose flour, beaten eggs, and panko breadcrumbs. First, coat each shrimp in flour, shaking off excess. Then, dip into the beaten eggs, allowing excess to drip off, and finally coat in panko breadcrumbs.
Frying the Shrimp
- 3
Heat Oil
In a large skillet or deep fryer, heat vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).
- 4
Fry the Shrimp
Carefully add the breaded shrimp to the hot oil in batches, ensuring not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and cooked through. Remove with a slotted spoon and drain on paper towels.
Making the Bang Bang Sauce
- 5
Combine Sauce Ingredients
In a mixing bowl, whisk together the mayonnaise, sweet chili sauce, sriracha sauce, and lime juice until smooth and well combined.
Serving
- 6
Toss Shrimp in Sauce
In a large bowl, toss the fried shrimp with the Bang Bang sauce until well coated.
- 7
Garnish and Serve
Transfer the shrimp to a serving platter, sprinkle with chopped green onions and cilantro, and serve immediately.
