Ingredients for Talbot Chardonnay California
Method
Winemaking Process
- 1
Harvest and Prepare Grapes
Harvest ripe Chardonnay grapes and remove stems. Crush the grapes to extract juice.
- 2
Fermentation
Combine the grape juice, water, sugar, and yeast in a fermentation vessel. Cover and let it ferment at room temperature for 1-2 weeks.
- 3
Secondary Fermentation
After primary fermentation, siphon the wine into a clean vessel, leaving sediment behind. If desired, add oak chips for flavor. Allow it to ferment for another 2-4 weeks.
- 4
Sulfite Addition
Once fermentation is complete, add sulfites to preserve the wine.
- 5
Bottling
Siphon the wine into sterilized bottles, leaving some space at the top. Seal with corks and store in a cool, dark place.
- 6
Aging
Let the wine age for at least 6 months to develop its full flavor profile.
