Preparation and Cooking

Prepare the Potatoes
Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.

Soak the Fries
Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

Prepare the Oil
Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

Fry the Potatoes
Fry the soaked fries in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
