Method

Preparation and Cooking

  1. 1

    Prepare the Potatoes

Wash and peel the russet potatoes. Cut them into thin strips to form fries.

  2. 2

    Soak the Fries

Soak the cut fries in cold water for at least 30 minutes to remove excess starch.

  3. 3

    Prepare the Oil

Heat the vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C).

  4. 4

    Fry the Potatoes

Fry the soaked fries in batches for about 5-7 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels.

  5. 5

    Season the Fries

Season with salt and black pepper to taste.
