Bourbon BBQ Brisket Steak
Method
Preparation and Cooking
- 1
Prepare the Brisket
Preheat your grill or smoker to medium heat. Rub the brisket steak with salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and smoked paprika. Let it marinate while you prepare the BBQ sauce.
- 2
Make the Bourbon BBQ Sauce
In a saucepan, combine bourbon whiskey, brown sugar, ketchup, apple cider vinegar, Worcestershire sauce, and salt. Bring to a simmer over medium heat, stirring until the sugar is dissolved. Reduce heat and let it simmer for about 15 minutes until it thickens.
- 3
- 4
Prepare the Coleslaw
In a large bowl, combine coleslaw mix and coleslaw dressing. Toss until evenly coated and refrigerate until ready to serve.
- 5
Make Fresh-Cut Fries
Cut the potatoes into fries and soak in cold water for 30 minutes. Drain and dry thoroughly. Heat vegetable oil in a deep fryer or large pot to 350°F (175°C). Fry the potatoes in batches until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Drain on paper towels and season with salt.
- 6
Serve
Slice the brisket against the grain and serve with the bourbon BBQ sauce, alongside coleslaw and fresh-cut fries.
