Cooking Instructions

  1. 1

    Prepare the Fries

Start by preheating your oven to 425°F (220°C). Cut the potatoes into thin strips to make fries.

  2. 2

    Season the Fries

In a large bowl, toss the potato strips with olive oil, Cajun seasoning, salt, and black pepper until evenly coated.

  3. 3

    Bake the Fries

Spread the fries in a single layer on a baking sheet. Bake in the preheated oven for about 25-30 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy.

  4. 4

    Caramelize the Onions

While the fries are baking, slice the onion thinly. In a skillet over medium heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil. Add the onions and cook, stirring occasionally, until they are golden and caramelized, about 15 minutes.

  5. 5

    Cook the Steak

Season the NY strip steak with salt and black pepper on both sides. In a skillet over high heat, add a tablespoon of olive oil and sear the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side for medium-rare, or until your desired doneness.

  6. 6

    Add Blue Cheese and Serve

Once the steak is cooked, remove it from the skillet and let it rest for a few minutes. Top the steak with caramelized onions and crumbled blue cheese. Serve alongside the Cajun fries.
