Espresso Preparation Instructions
- 1
Grinding the Coffee Beans
Start by grinding the Lavazza espresso coffee beans to a fine consistency, similar to granulated sugar. Use approximately 18 grams of coffee beans for one shot of espresso.
- 2
Heating the Water
In a kettle, heat 300 ml of water to just below boiling point (around 90-95°C). This is the optimal temperature for brewing espresso to extract the best flavors.
- 3
Brewing the Espresso
Place the ground coffee in the portafilter and tamp it down evenly. Lock the portafilter into the espresso machine. Once the water is heated, start brewing the espresso. It should take about 25-30 seconds for the espresso to brew, yielding a rich, concentrated shot.
- 4
Adding Milk (Optional)
If desired, steam 100 ml of milk using a steam wand until frothy. Pour the steamed milk over the brewed espresso for a cappuccino or latte.
- 5
Sweetening (Optional)
If you prefer a sweeter taste, add 1 tsp of your preferred sweetener to the espresso or milk. Stir gently to combine.
- 6
Serving
Serve the espresso immediately in a pre-warmed cup. If you’ve made a cappuccino or latte, garnish with a sprinkle of cocoa powder or cinnamon for added flavor.
