Method
Preparing the Taco Shells
- 1
Heat the Oil
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium heat until hot.
- 2
Fry the Tortillas
Carefully place one corn tortilla into the hot oil and fry for about 30 seconds on each side until crispy and golden brown. Remove and drain on paper towels. Repeat with the remaining tortillas.
Making the Beef Filling
- 3
Cook the Ground Beef
In a separate skillet, add the ground beef and cook over medium heat until browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 5-7 minutes.
- 4
Add Seasoning
Stir in the taco seasoning mix and water. Bring to a simmer and cook for about 5 minutes until the mixture thickens and is well combined.
Assembling the Tacos
- 5
Fill the Taco Shells
Take a crispy taco shell and spoon in a generous amount of the beef filling.
- 6
Add Toppings
Top the beef with shredded lettuce, shredded cheese, and a dollop of salsa.
- 7
Serve
Serve the tacos immediately while they are still warm and crispy.
