Wonton Wrappers

Method

Preparing the Filling

  1. 1

    Mix the Tuna Filling

In a bowl, combine the drained canned tuna, chopped green onions, soy sauce, sriracha sauce, sesame oil, garlic powder, ginger powder, salt, and black pepper. Mix well until all ingredients are evenly distributed.

Assembling the Wontons

  1. 2

    Fill the Wontons

Take a wonton wrapper and place about a teaspoon of the tuna filling in the center of each wrapper. Be careful not to overfill.

  2. 3

    Seal the Wontons

Moisten the edges of the wonton wrapper with a little water, fold it in half to create a triangle, and press the edges together to seal. You can also gather the corners of the triangle together to form a pouch shape if desired. Repeat this process with the remaining wonton wrappers and filling.

Frying the Wontons

  1. 4

    Heat the Oil

In a deep pan or fryer, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat until it reaches 350°F (175°C).

  2. 5

    Fry the Wontons

Carefully add the wontons to the hot oil in batches, making sure not to overcrowd the pan. Fry for about 2-3 minutes or until golden brown and crispy, turning occasionally for even cooking.

  3. 6

    Drain the Wontons

Once cooked, remove the wontons from the oil using a slotted spoon and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.

Preparing the Dipping Sauce

  1. 7

    Mix the Dipping Sauce

In a small bowl, mix together soy sauce, rice vinegar, sriracha sauce, and sesame seeds (if using). Stir well to combine.
