Dressing (optional)

Method

Preparing the Salad

  1. 1

    Wash and Chop Lettuce

Thoroughly wash the romaine lettuce and romaine hearts under cold running water. Shake off excess water and pat dry with a clean kitchen towel. Chop the romaine lettuce into bite-sized pieces and remove any tough stems from the romaine hearts before cutting them into similar-sized pieces.

  2. 2

    Combine Salad Ingredients

In a large salad bowl, combine the chopped romaine lettuce and sliced romaine hearts. Toss gently to mix.

  3. 3

    Add Croutons and Cheese

Sprinkle the garlic croutons over the salad mixture. Grate the Parmigiano Reggiano cheese over the top of the salad using a microplane or cheese grater.

Making the Dressing (optional)

  1. 4

    Prepare the Dressing

In a small bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lemon juice, salt, and black pepper until well combined. Adjust seasoning to taste.

  2. 5

    Dress the Salad

Drizzle the dressing over the salad and toss gently to combine, ensuring that all ingredients are evenly coated.

Serving

  1. 6

    Serve the Salad

Serve the Little Caesar Salad immediately as a refreshing side dish or light main course.
