Method
Cooking the Burger Patty

Prepare the Meat
In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

Form the Patty
Divide the mixture into two equal portions, then shape each portion into a round patty approximately 1 inch thick.

Add Cheese
In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of aged cheddar cheese on top of the patty and cover to melt.

Prepare Vegetables
While the burger is cooking, wash the lettuce leaf, slice the tomato, onion, and pickles as needed.
Assembling the Burger

Toast the Bun
Optionally, toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

Build the Burger
On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place the lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheddar, then layer on the tomato, onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
