Method

Cooking the Burger Patty

  1. 1

    Prepare the Meat

In a mixing bowl, combine the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Mix gently to avoid overworking the meat.

  2. 2

    Form the Patty

Divide the mixture into two equal portions, then shape each portion into a round patty approximately 1 inch thick.

  3. 3

    Cook the Patty

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Cook the burger patty for about 4-5 minutes on one side until browned, then flip and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium doneness.

  4. 4

    Add Cheese

In the last minute of cooking, place a slice of aged cheddar cheese on top of the patty and cover to melt.

Preparing the Toppings

  1. 5

    Prepare Vegetables

While the burger is cooking, wash the lettuce leaf, slice the tomato, onion, and pickles as needed.

Assembling the Burger

  1. 6

    Toast the Bun

Optionally, toast the burger bun on the grill or in a toaster until lightly golden.

  2. 7

    Build the Burger

On the bottom half of the toasted bun, place the lettuce, followed by the cooked patty with melted cheddar, then layer on the tomato, onion, and pickles. Top with the other half of the bun.
