Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Season the Steak

In a small bowl, mix together salt, black pepper, garlic powder, onion powder, and paprika. Rub the seasoning mixture evenly over both sides of the ribeye steak. Allow the steak to sit at room temperature for about 30 minutes to enhance flavor.

Cooking

  1. 2

    Heat the Pan

Heat a large cast-iron skillet or heavy frying pan over medium-high heat. Add olive oil and let it heat until it shimmers, about 1-2 minutes.

  2. 3

    Cook the Steak

Place the seasoned ribeye steak in the hot skillet. Cook for 4-5 minutes on one side without moving it to get a nice sear. Flip the steak and cook for an additional 4-5 minutes for medium-rare, or adjust cooking time to your preference.

  3. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked to your desired doneness, remove the steak from the skillet and place it on a cutting board. Tent it loosely with aluminum foil and let it rest for at least 5 minutes before slicing.

Serving

  1. 5

    Slice and Serve

After resting, slice the ribeye steak against the grain into thick slices. Serve immediately and enjoy!
