Method

Preparation

  1. 1

    Combine Dry Ingredients

In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, granulated sugar, baking powder, and salt until well combined.

  2. 2

    Melt Butter

In a small saucepan over low heat, melt the unsalted butter. Once melted, remove from heat and set aside to cool slightly.

Mixing Wet Ingredients

  1. 3

    Combine Wet Ingredients

In another bowl, beat the egg and then add the milk, melted butter, and vanilla extract. Mix until smooth.

Cooking Pancakes

  1. 4

    Combine Wet and Dry Mixtures

Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients. Stir gently until just combined; do not overmix. The batter should be slightly lumpy.

  2. 5

    Heat the Pan

Heat a non-stick skillet or griddle over medium heat. Lightly grease with oil or additional butter.

  3. 6

    Cook Pancakes

For each pancake, pour about 1/4 cup of batter onto the skillet. Cook until bubbles form on the surface (about 2-3 minutes), then flip and cook until golden brown on the other side (another 2-3 minutes).

Serving

  1. 7

    Serve with Syrup

Serve the pancakes warm with maple syrup drizzled on top. Enjoy!
