Combine Ingredients
In a mixing glass, combine 2 oz of bourbon, 0.5 oz of simple syrup, and 2 dashes of Angostura bitters.

Add 3 ice cubes to the mixing glass.

Stir the mixture gently for about 20-30 seconds until well chilled.
Serving

Strain
Strain the cocktail into an old fashioned glass filled with fresh ice, if desired.

Express the oils from a piece of orange peel over the drink, then drop it in as a garnish. Add a maraschino cherry on top.
