Cheese Mixture Preparation

Combine Cheeses
In a mixing bowl, combine the shredded cheddar cheese and softened cream cheese.

Add Seasonings
Add garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, and salt to the cheese mixture. Mix until well combined.

Chill Mixture
Cover the bowl and refrigerate the cheese mixture for about 30 minutes to firm up.
Fried Dough Preparation

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, whisk together the all-purpose flour, baking powder, and salt.

Form Dough
Pour the wet ingredients into the dry ingredients and stir until just combined. The dough should be slightly sticky.
Frying

Heat Oil
In a deep frying pan or pot, heat vegetable oil over medium heat until it reaches about 350°F (175°C).

Drop Cheese Mixture
Using a spoon or cookie scoop, drop spoonfuls of the chilled cheese mixture into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Using the same method, drop spoonfuls of the dough into the hot oil. Fry until golden brown, about 3-4 minutes.

Drain Excess Oil
Once fried, remove the cheese drops and dough from the oil and place them on paper towels to drain excess oil.
Serving
