Method

Preparation of Custard

  1. 1

    Mix Custard Ingredients

In a medium bowl, whisk together the eggs, milk, vanilla extract, ground cinnamon, and a pinch of salt until well combined.

Cooking French Toast

  1. 2

    Heat the Pan

In a large non-stick skillet, melt 1 tablespoon of butter over medium heat until the butter is bubbly and slightly browned.

  2. 3

    Dip the Bread

Take one slice of bread and dip it into the custard mixture, ensuring both sides are well-coated but not overly soaked.

  3. 4

    Cook the Bread

Carefully place the dipped bread slice onto the hot skillet. Cook for about 3-4 minutes on one side until golden brown, then flip and cook the other side for another 3-4 minutes.

  4. 5

    Repeat Cooking

Repeat the dipping and cooking process for the remaining slices of bread, adding more butter to the skillet as needed.

Serving

  1. 6

    Plate and Serve

Once all slices are cooked, transfer them to serving plates. Dust with powdered sugar and serve with maple syrup on the side.
