Cooking Instructions
- 1
Prepare the Meat Sauce
In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onions and minced garlic, sauté until translucent. Add ground beef, breaking it apart, and cook until browned. Stir in marinara sauce, dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Let simmer for about 10 minutes.
- 2
Prepare the Ricotta Mixture
In a medium bowl, mix ricotta cheese, egg, and a pinch of salt. Stir until well combined.
- 3
Cook the Noodles
In a large pot of boiling salted water, cook lasagna noodles according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and rinse under cold water to stop cooking.
- 4
Assemble the Lasagna
Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). In a 9x13 inch baking dish, spread a layer of meat sauce at the bottom. Place 3 lasagna noodles over the sauce, then spread half of the ricotta mixture over the noodles. Add 1 cup of mozzarella cheese, then top with another layer of meat sauce. Repeat the layering process twice more, finishing with noodles and remaining meat sauce. Sprinkle with remaining mozzarella and Parmesan cheese on top.
