Method
Burger Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Burger Patties
In a bowl, season the ground beef with salt and black pepper. Form into two equal patties.
- 2
Cook the Bacon
In a skillet over medium heat, cook the bacon slices until crispy. Remove and set aside on paper towels to drain excess grease.
- 3
Cook the Burger Patties
In the same skillet, add the burger patties and cook for about 4-5 minutes on each side for medium doneness. Add a slice of aged cheddar on top of each patty during the last minute of cooking to melt.
- 4
Toast the Buns
While the patties are cooking, lightly toast the burger buns in the skillet until golden brown.
Sauce Preparation
- 5
Make the Burger Sauce
In a small bowl, mix together mayonnaise, ketchup, mustard, pickle relish, garlic powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.
Assembling the Burger
- 6
Build the Burger
Spread a generous amount of the burger sauce on the bottom bun. Add the lettuce, a burger patty with melted cheddar, crispy bacon, tomato slices, and red onion slices. Top with the other half of the bun.
