Fried Brussels Sprouts
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Prepare the Brussels Sprouts
Trim the ends of the Brussels sprouts and cut them in half. Rinse and dry thoroughly.
- 2
Make the Hoisin Glaze
In a small bowl, mix the hoisin sauce and black pepper. Set aside.
- 3
Fry the Brussels Sprouts
In a large skillet, heat the vegetable oil over medium-high heat. Add the Brussels sprouts in a single layer and fry until golden brown and crispy, about 5-7 minutes. Stir occasionally.
- 4
Prepare the Tofu Hummus
In a blender or food processor, combine the tofu, tahini, lemon juice, and salt. Blend until smooth and creamy. Adjust seasoning to taste.
- 5
Combine and Serve
Once the Brussels sprouts are golden, remove from the heat and toss with the hoisin glaze. Serve the fried Brussels sprouts on a plate with a dollop of tofu hummus, garnished with mint leaves, sliced Thai chili, and a sprinkle of sesame seeds.
