Steak Marinade

Method

Steak Marinade

  1. 1

    Prepare the Marinade

In a bowl, whisk together the olive oil, lime juice, minced garlic, cumin, chili powder, salt, and black pepper until well combined.

  2. 2

    Marinate the Steak

Place the steak in a large resealable plastic bag or a shallow dish. Pour the marinade over the steak, ensuring it is evenly coated. Seal the bag or cover the dish and refrigerate for at least 30 minutes, or up to 2 hours for more flavor.

Cooking the Steak

  1. 3

    Cook the Steak

Preheat a grill or skillet over medium-high heat. Remove the steak from the marinade and discard the marinade. Cook the steak for about 4-5 minutes per side, or until it reaches your desired doneness.

  2. 4

    Rest the Steak

Once cooked, transfer the steak to a cutting board and let it rest for 5 minutes before slicing.

  3. 5

    Slice the Steak

After resting, slice the steak against the grain into thin strips.

Taco Assembly

  1. 6

    Warm the Tortillas

In a dry skillet over medium heat, warm the corn tortillas for about 30 seconds on each side until pliable.

  2. 7

    Assemble the Tacos

Take a tortilla and place a portion of sliced steak in the center. Top with chopped cilantro, diced red onion, and avocado slices.

  3. 8

    Finish with Toppings

Add a dollop of sour cream and serve with lime wedges on the side.
