Method
Prepare the Fries
- 1
Cook the Frozen Fries
Preheat the oven to 220°C (425°F). Spread the frozen French fries on a baking sheet, drizzle with vegetable oil and sprinkle with salt. Toss to coat evenly.
- 2
Bake the Fries
Bake in the preheated oven for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown and crispy, flipping halfway through.
Make the Chili
- 3
Sauté Onion and Garlic
In a large skillet over medium heat, add the chopped onion and minced garlic. Sauté until the onion is translucent, about 5 minutes.
- 4
Cook the Ground Beef
Add the ground beef to the skillet. Cook until browned, breaking it up with a spoon, about 7-10 minutes.
- 5
Add Remaining Ingredients
Stir in the canned diced tomatoes, chili powder, cumin, salt, black pepper, and kidney beans. Bring to a simmer and cook for 15 minutes, stirring occasionally.
Assemble the Chili Cheese Fries
- 6
Combine Fries and Chili
Once the fries are done baking, remove them from the oven and place them on a serving platter. Spoon the chili mixture over the fries evenly.
- 7
Add Toppings
Sprinkle the shredded cheddar cheese over the chili, followed by the sliced jalapeños. Add dollops of sour cream on top.
- 8
Serve
Serve immediately while hot, enjoying the melty cheese and spicy jalapeños.
