Method
Garlic Butter Croutons
Prepare the croutons
Preheat the oven to 375°F (190°C). In a small saucepan, melt the butter over medium heat. Add minced garlic and cook for 1 minute, until fragrant. Season with salt and pepper.
Place the cubed bread in a large bowl. Pour the garlic butter over the bread and toss to coat evenly.
Spread the coated bread cubes on a baking sheet in a single layer. Bake for 10–15 minutes, turning halfway through, until golden and crispy. Let cool.
Caesar Dressing
Make the dressing
In a medium bowl, whisk together mayonnaise, minced garlic, Dijon mustard, Worcestershire sauce, lemon juice, anchovy paste, and grated Parmesan cheese until smooth.
Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Add a tablespoon of water if the dressing is too thick. Set aside or refrigerate until ready to use.
Salad Assembly
Assemble the salad
Wash and dry the romaine lettuce. Chop or tear into bite-sized pieces. Place in a large salad bowl.
Drizzle with Caesar dressing and toss to coat evenly. Serve immediately.
