Rinse the Wild Rice
Thoroughly rinse 1 cup of wild rice under cold water until the water runs clear, then set aside.

Prepare Herbs
Chop 2 tablespoons of fresh parsley and set aside for garnish.

Combine Rice and Liquids
Stir in the rinsed wild rice, 4 cups of vegetable broth, and 2 cups of water. Add 1 teaspoon of salt, 1 teaspoon of black pepper, 1 teaspoon of thyme, and 1 bay leaf. Bring to a boil.

Simmer the Rice
Once boiling, reduce the heat to low, cover the pot, and let it simmer for about 45-50 minutes, or until the rice is tender and the liquid is absorbed.

Finish and Serve
Remove from heat, discard the bay leaf, and stir in the chopped parsley. Adjust seasoning if necessary. Serve hot.
