Method

Pasta Preparation

  1. 1

    Cook the Capellini

Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil. Add the capellini pasta and cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually 2-3 minutes. Drain and set aside.

Crab-Rosa Sauce Preparation

  1. 2

    Sauté Aromatics

In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the minced shallots and sauté until translucent, about 2-3 minutes. Then add the minced garlic and sauté for an additional minute until fragrant.

  2. 3

    Add Tomato Puree

Stir in the tomato puree and bring to a simmer. Cook for about 5 minutes, stirring occasionally.

  3. 4

    Incorporate Cream and Seasoning

Lower the heat and gradually stir in the heavy cream. Add the chopped basil, red pepper flakes, salt, and black pepper. Simmer for another 5 minutes until the sauce thickens slightly.

  4. 5

    Add Seafood

Gently fold in the lump crab meat and shrimp into the sauce. Allow to cook for 3-4 minutes, or until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.

Assembly

  1. 6

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the cooked capellini pasta into the skillet with the crab-rosa sauce. Toss gently to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.

  2. 7

    Serve

Plate the pasta and garnish with chopped parsley and grated Parmesan cheese. Serve immediately.
