Method
Sauce Preparation
- 1
- 2
Sauté Garlic
Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn it.
- 3
Add Spice
Stir in the crushed red pepper flakes and cook for an additional 30 seconds.
- 4
Add Tomatoes
Pour in the canned San Marzano tomatoes, followed by salt, black pepper, and dried oregano. Stir to combine.

Simmer Sauce
Bring the sauce to a simmer, reduce the heat to low, and let it cook for about 20 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Add Fresh Basil
Before serving, stir in the chopped fresh basil leaves and adjust seasoning if necessary.
Pizza Assembly
- 7
Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 475°F (245°C) or as high as it will go, ideally with a pizza stone inside.
- 8
Prepare Pizza Dough
On a floured surface, stretch or roll out the pizza dough to your desired thickness and shape.
- 9
Spread Sauce
Spread a generous amount of the prepared spicy tomato sauce evenly over the dough, leaving a small edge for the crust.
- 10
Add Mozzarella
Sprinkle the shredded mozzarella cheese evenly over the sauce.
- 11
Add Chorizo
Evenly distribute the sliced Spanish chorizo over the cheese.
- 12
Bake Pizza
Carefully transfer the pizza onto the preheated pizza stone or baking sheet. Bake for 10-12 minutes or until the crust is golden and the cheese is bubbling.
- 13
Garnish
Remove the pizza from the oven, garnish with fresh basil leaves, and let it cool for a couple of minutes before slicing.
