Preparation

  1. 1

    Trim the Green Beans

Rinse the fresh green beans under cold water. Trim the ends of the green beans by snapping them off or cutting them with a knife.

  2. 2

    Prepare the Almonds

In a dry skillet over medium heat, add the sliced almonds. Toast the almonds for about 3-5 minutes, stirring frequently until they are golden brown and fragrant. Remove from heat and set aside.

Cooking

  1. 3

    Blanch the Green Beans

Fill a large pot with water and bring it to a boil. Add the trimmed green beans and blanch them for about 3-4 minutes until they are bright green and tender-crisp. Drain and immediately plunge the beans into a bowl of ice water to stop the cooking process. Once cooled, drain again and set aside.

  2. 4

    Sauté the Garlic

In a large skillet, melt the unsalted butter over medium heat. Add the minced garlic and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to brown it.

  3. 5

    Combine Ingredients

Add the blanched green beans to the skillet, along with the salt and black pepper. Toss to coat the green beans in the butter and garlic mixture. Sauté for an additional 2-3 minutes until heated through.

  4. 6

    Finishing Touch

Remove the skillet from heat and drizzle the lemon juice over the green beans. Toss gently to combine. Finally, add the toasted almonds and mix well before serving.
