Method

Cook Pasta

  1. 1

    Boil Water

In a large pot, bring water to a boil. Add 1 tablespoon of salt to the boiling water.

  2. 2

    Cook Spaghetti

Add 200 grams of spaghetti to the boiling water. Cook according to package instructions until al dente, usually about 8-10 minutes.

  3. 3

    Drain Pasta

Once cooked, drain the spaghetti and set aside, reserving a little pasta water.

Make Sauce

  1. 4

    Heat Olive Oil

In a large skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat.

  2. 5

    Sauté Garlic

Add 3 minced garlic cloves to the skillet and sauté for about 1 minute until fragrant, being careful not to burn.

  3. 6

    Add Tomatoes

Stir in 400 grams of crushed tomatoes, 1 teaspoon of dried oregano, 1 teaspoon of dried basil, 0.5 teaspoon of salt, and 0.25 teaspoon of black pepper. Let it simmer for 10 minutes.

  4. 7

    Combine Pasta and Sauce

Add the drained spaghetti to the sauce, tossing to coat. If the sauce is too thick, add a little reserved pasta water to reach desired consistency.

  5. 8

    Add Parmesan

Stir in 50 grams of grated Parmesan cheese until melted and combined.

Serve

  1. 9

    Plate the Pasta

Transfer the pasta to serving plates.

  2. 10

    Garnish

Top with fresh basil leaves and a sprinkle of red chili flakes for an extra kick.
