Main Ingredients
Method
Cooking the Pasta
- 1
Boil the Fettuccine
In a large pot, bring salted water to a boil. Add the fettuccine pasta and cook according to the package instructions until al dente, usually about 10-12 minutes. Stir occasionally to prevent sticking.
- 2
Drain the Pasta
Once cooked, drain the pasta in a colander and set aside. Do not rinse, as you want the starch to remain for the sauce.
Cooking the Chicken
- 3
Prepare the Chicken
While the pasta cooks, season the chicken breasts with salt and black pepper on both sides.
- 4
Cook the Chicken
Heat a large skillet over medium heat and add 2 tablespoons of butter. Once melted, add the seasoned chicken breasts. Cook for about 6-7 minutes on each side, or until the chicken is cooked through and no longer pink in the center. Remove from skillet and let rest for a few minutes before slicing.
Making the Alfredo Sauce
- 5
- 6
Add Cream and Cheese
Pour in the heavy cream and bring to a simmer. Stir in the grated Parmesan cheese until melted and the sauce is smooth. Season with additional salt and black pepper to taste.
Combining Ingredients
- 7
Mix Pasta with Sauce
Add the drained fettuccine pasta into the Alfredo sauce, tossing to coat the pasta evenly with the sauce.
- 8
Slice Chicken and Serve
Slice the cooked chicken breasts and place on top of the pasta. Garnish with chopped parsley and additional Parmesan cheese if desired.
