Crumble Topping
Method
Preparation
- 1
Prepare the Filling
Preheat the oven to 350°F (175°C). In a large bowl, combine the sliced apples, granulated sugar, ground cinnamon, and lemon juice. Toss until the apples are well coated and set aside.
- 2
Make the Crumble Topping
In another bowl, mix the all-purpose flour, rolled oats, brown sugar, chopped macadamia nuts, softened butter, and salt. Use your fingers or a pastry cutter to combine until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
- 3
Assemble and Bake
In a greased 9x13 inch baking dish, spread the apple mixture evenly. Sprinkle the macadamia crumble topping generously over the apples. Bake in the preheated oven for about 45-50 minutes, or until the apples are bubbly and the topping is golden brown.
- 4
Serve
Allow the crisp to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm, optionally with vanilla ice cream.
