Directions

1

Prepare the Pears

Wash the pears thoroughly. Cut a small slice from the bottom of each pear to help them stand upright. Leave the stems intact.

2

Make the Poaching Liquid

In a large saucepan, combine water, sugar, cinnamon stick, vanilla extract, and lemon juice. Stir well and bring to a gentle boil over medium heat.

3

Poach the Pears

Once the poaching liquid is boiling, reduce the heat to low. Carefully add the pears to the saucepan. Cover and simmer for 20-25 minutes, or until the pears are tender but not mushy.

4

Cool the Pears

Once cooked, remove the pears from the saucepan and place them upright on a serving dish. Allow the poaching liquid to cool for about 10 minutes before straining it to remove the cinnamon stick.

5

Serve

Drizzle the strained poaching liquid over the pears and garnish with fresh mint leaves. Serve warm or chilled.
