Soft Serve Ice Cream and Toppings
Method
Preparation Steps
- 1
Make the Strawberry Puree
In a blender, combine 2 cups of fresh strawberries with 1 tablespoon of sugar. Blend until smooth, then strain through a sieve to remove seeds if desired. Set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Soft Serve Ice Cream Base
In a mixing bowl, whisk together heavy cream, whole milk, 3 tablespoons of sugar, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract until the sugar is dissolved.
- 3
Chill the Ice Cream Base
Cover the mixing bowl and refrigerate the ice cream base for at least 1 hour or until it is well chilled.
- 4
Churn the Ice Cream
Pour the chilled ice cream base into an ice cream maker and churn according to the manufacturer's instructions until it reaches a soft-serve consistency.
- 5
Assemble the Summer Strawberry
In serving bowls or cups, scoop the soft serve ice cream. Drizzle with strawberry puree, top with whipped cream, and garnish with fresh strawberries.
