Cooking Instructions
- 1
Cook the Rigatoni
In a large pot of salted boiling water, cook the rigatoni according to package instructions until al dente. Drain and set aside.
- 2
Prepare the Bolognese Sauce
In a large skillet, heat the olive oil over medium heat. Add the chopped onion, carrot, and celery. Sauté for about 5-7 minutes until the vegetables are softened.
- 3
Add Garlic and Beef
Stir in the minced garlic and ground beef. Cook until the beef is browned, breaking it apart with a spoon, about 8-10 minutes.
- 4
Incorporate Tomatoes and Wine
Add the crushed tomatoes, tomato paste, red wine, and beef broth. Stir well to combine.
- 5
Season the Sauce
Add the dried oregano, dried basil, salt, and black pepper. Bring the sauce to a simmer and let it cook for 30 minutes, stirring occasionally.
- 6
Combine with Rigatoni
Once the sauce has thickened, add the cooked rigatoni to the skillet and toss to coat evenly with the sauce.
- 7
Serve
Plate the rigatoni Bolognese and top with grated Pecorino Romano cheese before serving.
