Preheat Oven
Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C). Grease and flour three 9-inch round cake pans.

Mix Dry Ingredients
In a large mixing bowl, sift together the flour, sugar, cocoa powder, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.

Add Boiling Water
Carefully stir in the boiling water. The batter will be thin.

Bake the Cake
Pour the batter evenly into the prepared cake pans. Bake for 30-35 minutes or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out clean.

Cool Cakes
Allow cakes to cool in pans for 10 minutes before transferring to wire racks to cool completely.

Make Ganache
In a saucepan, heat the heavy cream until it begins to simmer. Remove from heat and add the chopped dark chocolate. Stir until smooth and let it cool slightly.

Prepare Whipped Cream
In a mixing bowl, whip the heavy cream, powdered sugar, and vanilla extract until stiff peaks form.

Assemble the Cake
Once the cakes are completely cool, place one layer on a serving plate. Spread ganache over the top, then add another layer of cake. Repeat this process until all layers are stacked. Frost the top and sides with the remaining ganache and decorate with whipped cream.
